frustrated by wasted time.. :(

I'm sorry to say that, I've been a bit frustrated by this book ,the sensation is to have wasted time and money,
the first part take an installation path which is incomplete ( but anyway all kubernetes installation docs are incomplete on internet (there are too many moving parts), and having a comprehensive guide would take a whole book , the only good guide I have found is the coreos official guide for kubernetes on their website )
then after that there are a tons of redundant (about 200 pages) examples of yaml files for pod,service,replica creation ( all almost identical ) and with statement like:
"now we are creating a mysql cluster" or a "cassandra cluster" , but the results is only a replication controller infront of docker images, tons of pages are full of yml for those "microservices"
but all are just samples that can be (and probably has been) created looking for images in [...] than using a pod,rc,srv yaml template in and remplacing the ports and the docker image name. a "cluster" is something different.. none of these example is production ready and could have been 100x more useful just 2 , 3 example but studied than 30 copy-pasted hello-world "cluster" example.

Don't waste your time and money on this, it says you will learn "How to use Kubernetes with NoSQL Databases" or "How to use Kubernetes with RDBMS", but it does not. All it does is telling you how to running several individual MySQL or MongoDB pods, and it's totally useless since they are not clustered together.

Priceless, just priceless

The Christmas that Almost Wasn't is a poem for children of all ages, the story of Nicholas Knock, a seven-year-old boy, saving the kingdom of Lullapat from a dark conspiracy. The king's nephew Evilard has locked up the king and outlawed Christmas, and it is up to Nick to save the day.

This is a beautiful book to read aloud, being fully in poetic form and chock full of unforgettable images. "The flour was unground into wheat at the mill, for the river turned round and flowed back up the hill. The spots on the leopard went rolling away - and were captured for marbles by urchins at play." Some of the words aren't ones children see everyday, but nowhere does it come in the way of the story. Good chance to learn some vocabulary, and even if you don't it's pretty obvious what's going on.

The pictures, at least in my edition (1957 Little, Brown &co. hardcover) are mostly ink drawings with little color, but the real pictures are in the words and the illustrations just add a bit of zing.

I hope someday this is reprinted for new generations to enjoy.

Betsy Page Sigman is a distinguished professor at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She has taught courses in statistics, project management, databases, and electronic commerce for the last 16 years, and has been recognized with awards for teaching and service. TPR Storytelling Student Book, English Year 1 is used with with TPR Storytelling Teacher's Guidebook, also by Todd McKay. My name is Todd McKay. I teach middle school students in Pennsylvania. My subject is Spanish and I have been doing this for many years. "Teaching" Spanish is easy but it bothered me that "learning" Spanish is difficult for students. I searched for a way to make the equation equal - that is, learning should be as easy for students as teaching the subject was for me. The answer I discovered is TPR. I discovered this in 1992 during my first year teaching when I felt like I was pounding my head against a wall and was about ready to quit. TPR was CPR for my career. When I tried TPR for the first time, I was thrilled that it actually worked. Within minutes, my beginning students were not listening to "noise" coming from my mouth, but messages they could understand with no translation. It was instant understanding of an "alien" language. They understood and to my amazement, actually enjoyed the learning process. For the first time, I observed students excited to be learning. What happened was this: after three weeks, the novelty wore off. Dr. James J. Asher, the originator of TPR, calls this adaptation. For more on this phenomenon and how to cope with it, read his book Learning Another Language Through Actions, now in the 7th edition, with more than 60,000 copies in print throughout the world. You know that students have adapted (that is, they are no longer responding) when they mutiny with comments such as: "If you ask me to perform one more time, I will throw up in the wastebasket" or "Please, no more. I have a terrible headache." The simple answer, as Dr. Asher recommends, is "Never stay with any novelty too long. Switch to a different activity frequently." One of the "different activities" that worked with my students is storytelling. So what I want to share with you is a technique for switching between two powerful tools, classic TPR and TPR storytelling, to keep the students excited with the learning process. They internalize the target language in chunks rather than word by word memorization. Along the way, I will share other ways to switch activities to guarantee a successful learning experience for your students.
